See everyday objects in a whole new light! Explore their possibilities to layer up colour, line, shape, texture and pattern. We’ll be using things commonly found around the house or in your recycling bin, or easily obtained. The results can make beautiful finished prints, collage papers or the basis for continuing on with mixed media.

Once registered a material list will be provided but a gel (or gelli) plate is needed for this course, as the alternatives will not produce nearly as good a result. A soft rubber printmaking brayer is strongly recommended. A Kim-Lee video to help get ready for the workshop will be provided.

Kim-Lee Kho is a Brampton-based multidisciplinary artist and designer, who loves exploring and expanding the possibilities of media, materials and processes. The bi-ethnic daughter of a scientist and an artist, Kho’s process and interests combine both influences, in sometimes unexpected ways. A member of The Red Head Gallery collective in downtown Toronto, she’s participated nationally in exhibitions, residencies, and mentorships; and won a number of awards including grants from the Ontario Arts Council. Kho is a popular and experienced art educator, speaker, and juror, who offers free weekly Virtual Studio Parties on YouTube, and teaches online.
