Fall is coming and here in Canada that means we have a limited opportunity to make art from fresh, natural items… or do we? Making impressions from objects and textured surfaces is a gel plate superpower! We’ll make negative and positive prints, compose with glorious shape and texture, and layer things up using design principles to create depth and richness in our images.
About the Artist: Kim-Lee Kho is a Brampton-based multidisciplinary artist and designer, who loves exploring and expanding the possibilities of media, materials and processes. The bi-ethnic daughter of a scientist and an artist, Kho’s process and interests combine both influences, in sometimes unexpected ways. A member of The Red Head Gallery collective in downtown Toronto, she’s participated nationally in exhibitions, residencies, and mentorships; and won a number of awards including grants from the Ontario Arts Council. Kho is a popular and experienced art educator, speaker, and juror, who offers free weekly Virtual Studio Parties on YouTube, and teaches online
