About Art Is Love

Quest Art School + Gallery Launches Innovative Artist-in-Residence Program To Celebrate The Profound Connection Between Love And Art.

Quest Art School + Gallery is proud to announce the launch of its new artist-in-residence initiative, "Art is Love." This exciting program aims to foster artistic expression and community engagement while celebrating the profound connection between art and love.

With "Art is Love," Quest seeks to create a nurturing environment where artists can explore their craft freely, supported by a community that values and celebrates their work. The “Art Is Love” concept was inspired by a similar program that Quest's Board Chair experienced on an even grander scale in Australia and recognized as something the local community could benefit from in North Simcoe.

The artist-in-residence program, which will formally open to the public on March 16th in tandem with the new Café Roxy, will provide selected artists with dedicated studio and/or gallery space on the main floor of the Midland Cultural Centre. Artists will have the opportunity to engage with the local community through workshops, exhibitions, and interactive events.

"We are thrilled to introduce 'Art is Love' as our latest endeavour to champion creativity and connection within our community," says Lawrence Sagar, Director of Quest Art School + Gallery. "By embracing love as the guiding principle of this residency, we hope to inspire artists to explore the possibilities of their craft while fostering meaningful connections with one another and our patrons."

The "Art is Love" residency will welcome artists from a variety of different backgrounds and disciplines to encourage diverse voices and perspectives. These artists will embark on a journey of exploration, collaboration, and self-expression, guided by the ethos that art has the power to unite, heal, and uplift. Applications are open to emerging and established artists alike. Interested individuals are invited to review the submission requirements below.
